Experience
My name is Anna and I am a certified secondary teacher who has been in the field of education for 20 plus years in both the United States and internationally. My concentration in the past four years has been in results driving tutoring primarily for high school/college students along with guiding students through the college application essay writing process (the UC system and a range of universities). I have teaching expertise in the following curricula: college level Advanced Placement (AP), the International Baccalaureate (IBDP), college level classes, regular American high schools and Problem or Project Based Learning (PBL).
My background involves supporting a multiplicity of students to succeed in a diverse range of high school humanities related courses, including: AP US History, AP World History, AP Comparative Government, AP US Government, IBDP Geography, English and Psychology. Additionally, with college students, I have tutored students in a range of Social Science and multi-disciplinary courses, including English, ELL, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, History, US Government, Political Science, Ethnic Studies, Business, Philosophy, and Poetry. My passion is in teaching students how to excel in close reading, writing, research, critical thinking and writing based test taking strategies. I also love to inspire students to succeed in the areas of academic and creative writing.

As my college essay writing tutor, Anna was able to help me write, edit and further refine my college admissions essays for my top tier and mid tier university list. This included my Common App personal narrative to be included in my application for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, LMU and Chapman along with my Personal Insight Questions for UC schools. Anna was able to help me express my strengths in these narratives and understand what each prompt required of me. Not only was she an effective editor, but Anna was also able to help me brainstorm and write my rough drafts when I had writer’s block, as well as assist me with research on schools for my supplemental essays. I received several offers and am happy with my university choice.
